*HOW TO DELETE PLAYERS: on the main menu, choose "OPTIONS", then choose "MANAGE FRIENDS." You then will be given the option to select (checkmark) a User ID and remove the user from your friends list (maximum 50 friends).
*ANOTHER GOOD TIP TO KNOW: If you are wondering a good way to narrow down what friends are playing daily and which friends to delete is to, click the "FRIENDS UPDATE" tab, Look for the first friend there but DO NOT click "OK or HELP", INSTEAD click the BACK BUTTON at the top right corner, which looks like this " < " , this WILL NOT delete your new updates. Now that you have that friends name, simply go feed their fish or practice fishing at that friends pond. Now that your friends fish have had their nourishment or been caught, go back to the "FRIENDS UPDATE" button and click "OK" or "HELP"on their request or gift. Keep doing this until your friends update list has been maxed out for the day. This will leave you with all friends who HAVE NOT played for the day! NOW JUST DELETE THEM and look for new friends who are more reliable.

A good way to know if your friends are active is just to keep track of the people sending you gifts. We, the admins, usually only ask to send us upgrade scrolls due to the fact we keep stars on hand all the time. People who don't gift back get booted... thanks for the question
If you don't have a pen and paper available another way to keep track is to only feed fish of friends who have gifted to you... at the end of the day/week boot those who are left with unfed fish

Answer: go to settings,-> help, ->friends list. then select the user ID's you wish to delete. or you can remove user ID's by logging on to gamevil. -John Fisherman

how do you know if someone has not played in 2 days?? i wish there was a time on last login on every friend.
Please read the blog carefully, we have answered more than once with tips on how to know when people aren't playing the game and bow to delete inactive players...
We don't have a problem answering questions and we actually love solid questions. Please understand we have thousands of hits to the blog and do this part time for free, we post daily and try our best to be as descriptive as we can... notice the blog titles and make sure you are using the correct section of the blog for the question at hand... thank you so much for understanding...
I know this seems like a lot of work but why do is: 1.Create a quick spread sheet of user ID's and levels and wait a week and check to see if their player level had risen. if not, delete and add new.

2. Try paying attention to the names as you quickly 'OK' all of your friend updates. some user ID's will become familiar just remember them when slimming down your friends list.

I play daily and typically my son is playing if I can't. We both never move on to actual fishing until we've cared for all friend updates and feeding friends fish. We enjoy watching the progress of others.
Today I rest at level 27 after about a week of game play. This figure is off however as I've had repeated "Upgrade Failed" errors happen while upgrading equipment. I'm forced to wait for a correction because it's just a lot of money. Tonight alone my attempt to upgrade my rod from level 13 to 14 cost me just under $40K in gold along with over 200 stars. Then it actually dropped me to level 10, requiring an addition 15 stars just to restore my previous level 13! Now a few hours later I had the same issue upgrading my head gear. Buh bye 80 more stars + gold :(
Thus far the admin team has been kind enough to replace what I've lost. The last issue took a very long time however. If anyone knows what may be causing this your advice would save me and the admin team a ton of grief! I remain committed though and hope to reach levels where I can catch the "uncatchables"!

Yes, the upgrade fails are intentional and allow the "uncatchables" to remain uncatchable by most of the players. This adds another challenge to the game. Some 'Monster' fish that have purple titles are not catchable by just any person with just any rod. It takes hard work, time and a LOT of patients to build your player stats up and purchase a great rod to catch these special fish. Though it is frustrating, I am grateful that there is indeed upgrade fails because it becomes more of an accomplishment to finally get your rod to an upgrade level 15 and become an upgrade master! hope this explanation helped,
