Isn't it frustrating when you're trying to catch a Monster Fish and you're using expensive S-Baits and they just don't bite? Isn't it EVEN MORE frustrating when you find out you've been using the WRONG bait in the first place? Been there, done that!
That's why my friend KUANTAN has helped me out by sending me a partial list with a couple tweaks of my own.

YEP! totally normal for a monster fish to revive itself. It will continue to revive itself until you have fully reeled it in. That is why its a MONSTER!

Hi guys, I have a question regarding the durability of equipment (except rod). I recognised that when my equipment's durability drops, their individual figure will drop. However, I found that my overall figures (shows under my character's image) will keep UNCHANGE even though all my equipment's durability goes down to 20.
Unfortunately, the same DO NOT apply to rod. When rod's durability drops, rod's figures will drop and my overall figures will ALSO drop.
Anyone has the same experience as me? What is going on? Does it mean that it is not necessary to repair equipment (except rod)? Awaiting for your sharing. Thanks so much.

Hooked 3 black snakehead with njust B Paste bait... 3 hooks in 15 throws... Not landed of course :D. Im low lvl and just 2 luck, so i think with more luck the numbers could be even better. Or maybe i was incredibly lucky... And the first missed one was a monster, about 290cm...
I got the same problem with a monster...
I'v been battleing for 35 min nnow and I can get it closer than 18m.
Shall i just give up and try again when I have gained a few levels and got better skills?

Some people have problems with monster fish because they cast too close. You should almost always cast mid to far. If you cast too close then it will stay in beast mose until it reaches a certain distance, then everytime you reel it in below that distance it will change back to beast mode and swim out to it again. So, for the ones that revive, if you cast too close but manage to kill it, it will revive before you can reel it in and swim back out to that distance again. Kinda makes it nearly impossible.
Hopefully this helps some people as I found out the hard way

I did cast close, and it insta ran out to 40 meters in beast mode.
everytime I "killed" it, I got it to about 18 meters and it woke up in beast mode and ran out to 40 meters again....
Gets pretty boring after 20'ish times ;)

Just caught a big black snake head with a pumpkin bait with only two cast. During the halloween event I was constantly hooking the big black snakehead with the pumpkin bait. However, once I caught him, I threw 20 pumpkin baits and not another bite. So once I catch him, can I not catch him anymore?

If you read what the tooltip in the pumpkin bait says, it reads "synthetic minnow" just to answer some questions.
Also, how do you deal with fish in beast mode? Been trying to catch the king picarucu but matter how close or far I toss it doesn't come out of beast mode.

Honestly i don't think there is a specific point to only find certain fish. The only thing I've noticed is that easy fish with low life tend to be caught easily close to your fishing rod. Fishes like the blackfin barracuda has alot to do with your luck and a maximum perfect cast. Barracuda is very difficult to catch so your luck has to be really high and u need a good fishing rod in order to catch it anyways. Hope this helps.
The way u catch any monster fish is with patience. If you have those kind of stats you should easily beable to pull it in. U just have to get it so close and wait till u get your special attack gauge full. Then u use it, stun the fish and hurry up and pull it in. Another way is to time it perfectly, kill the fish, pull it in, when it comes back to life, use your special attack and hurry up and reel it in before it wakes up.
lol everytime i try catch black snakehead. it always run out at 3~10m away. i killed it with full skill bar and reel it in to 10+m and it revive i stun it with my skill again. but always revive at 3~10m away. so any solutions? or the only way is to reel faster?
I guess u can reel faster but most likely your just not strong enough to reel it in the necessary time that is given while the fish is dead or stunned. Try upgrading your equipment or buy a better fishing rod and upgrade that. Remember its a little luck and timing to get it in if u can.

maybe there is no exact point to hook certain type of fish... but i guess there is someway to enhance the chance to get what you want...
for example, the competition today is to catch bulgyhead wrasse. i use a-worm, turning to rod to point to the third rock and cast with mid to max power, so the chance to get that fish is around 50-60%
for black snakehead, i cast with minnow at about 40% power and the rod pointing to about 1 o'clock. the chance to hook the black snakehead is about 20%
for the halibut at sunset, use a-worm, point to about 11 o'clock, about 70% power... chance to hook is about 60-70%

Maybe there is percentages but i don't bother with casting in certain positions. I just cast where ever i feel like it and i mostly get what i want. I've caught fishes in all kinds of positions, even top tier type too. I really feel its random and based on your luck.

Hi, i got similar problem to catch the monster snakehead. No matter how far i cast or any minor mistake i did during the battle (e.g. over-reel to high tension), the fighting distance between me and the monster is always "corrected" to about 23-27M. I tried to kill it many time (kill at about 24M) and can just reel it to about 13-15M from me before it revives. The battle goes over and over again until I finally give up. My ATT is 1220 using Infinity +12. Can any experts please help me? ID : 騰尼 (40 Lv)
i have caugth 2 black snakehead while my stats are:

my advice is to cast at about 19-23m, fighting with it at the distance of about 2Xm... when it nearly dies, keep the skill guage full and don't use the skill to kill but reel to kill... then, reel it in but do not imagine you can reel it in once..
try to slow down when reeling it into about 12-15m and wait it revive. (if you keep reeling fast, the tension may suddenly go to maximum when it revive.) after it revives at about 1Xm, use skill and keep fighting with it at about 1Xm....
the important point it not trying to reel it in in one or two times.. just keep reducing the distance of fighting each time... hope it helps.

When I fight it, its always around 25meter.
I cant reel it more than 18 meters after I stunn it. Its only stunned about 3-4 seconds!! No way i can get it closer.
If I time it right and use my skill right after, I can get it to 12-15 meter.
When it wakes up, its in crazy mode until it hits 25 meters again.....
every time....

My case is very similar to tiger43. After the monster revives (no matter at 14M, 15M, 16M, 17M or 18M), it won't stop it's crazy mode (either red or flash red) until it reaches around 24-25M. 1 time stunned, 2 times stunned, 3 times stunned, 4 times stunned all the same happened!!!
Therefore, I cannot keep it successfully at 1xM as what SexxJess said. Do all of you guys (successful guys) cast Perfect, Excellent, Good or Normal??
I have stunned it 15 times, b4 I gave up... :D

hey guys, i just use the technique from SexxJess and caught one A-grade Black Snakehead. I slow down when reeling it to 16-17M, wait it revives. Surprisingly, it shows GREEN status (revive at 30%) and I can fight with it at 1xM. After this breakthrough, the rest part of fighting is easier than easy. I even caught it with it's energy at about 4-5%. Thanks to SexxJess.

how far did you cast? at the beginning, i cast with zero power and, like your case, it kept the crazy mode until 24-25m far after each revive. Someone here before has advised not to cast so close. Then I tried to cast farther away, say 19-23m. Once I casted farther, I caught it at once.

Quick question for pl 1982 and sexxjess. I have you both on my friends list and I was wondering. Would you rather me just have the Alligator Gar by itself in my aquarium, for eggs, or have a few other fish. Also, I am trying to catch more fish that provide eggs and was wondering, is it best to just practice fish to try and get an egg, or should I feed a few and then practice fish? I play everyday and visit all of my friends aquariums, but they may feel like I am not visiting if I just go in and try and get an egg, even if I am doing it for the best of intentions. Thanks for any advice.

For me, I am trying to do practising 2-3 times and feed some fish in my friends aquarium (for those with star fish). I found most of my friends stop feeding my fish but only keep practising. Now my fish (with or without stars growing slowly).
In respect of your own aquarium, I would suggest you to get some other fish at this stage when you haven't got enough star fishes. I appreciate your intention but an aquarium full of star fish needs time to build up. Why don't you just replace the fish when you got an egg or star fish?

there was a system update to add new fish today. after that, i turned on the game and played as usual. but when i was doing the fishing practice, it suddenly logged out and pop a message saying "abnormal data detected......", and I could no longer open the game!!!!

I agree with sexjess. Just build your star fish up. If you can catch them with "S" rank or higher always helps instead of just relying on eggs. I personally only try to do practice fishing if the star fish are easy ones. I don't want to spend 5 min trying to catch a wels catfish when i can catch an alligator Gar in 1 min. I know i have really hard 3 star fish in ny tank but Im thinking of just having alligator gar, goliath tiger and Nile perch. What do u guys think?

I searched every nook and cranny regarding this and i finally figured out that its not cresent bay. Its crescent strait. The 4 fish they are referring to is 1 in each fishing site in the crescent strait; emerald fjord, kalde lake, paho shore, and weird rock ridge. I have no idea what bait to use for these new fish. If you find out can u please make a new thread for this event.

PL 1982, I have started feeding 3 fish in my friends aquarium that have star fish and practice fishing twice. I finally caught a Nile Perch egg today out of tigers. I have no problem catching the star fish, it is just the egg rate drop that sucks. As far as the alligator gar, the only place I have seen that has it is Secret Garden, I could be wrong though, and then I have to wait 2 hours to try and catch one with no luck, so far.
SexxJess, as for the error message, I have had to clear my data and my cache then reload to get rid of error messages. Maybe that will help. Good luck.

If u get monsters under the 20m mark and down to 4% strength they stay in green mode let your reel drop down till low flashes then wind like a madman i find this works nearly everytime

Hi hanabi69,
The boss as black rock beach is the white tiger shark worth 9 stars at SSS grade.
I've caught a bunch just to the left of that steep cliff in the far background, 12:30 (just move your rod a hair to the right from its starting position). you can use an s-crank bait, whickworks well.
With regards to master, expert and rookie baits, i personally havent caught a single boss fish using them.... the holiday baits work though, but just as well as the S baits.

Hey Hanabi69, I don't believe you can farm any boss fish that are worth 9 stars (i don't believe they lay eggs); you best bet is to farm the Atlantic Wolffish which is worth 6 stars at SSS grade! They're not too hard to catch when they're in your friends aquarium and (from my experience you can catch them at a rate of 1 out of 3 when practice fishing). Yesterday I caught 8 from just 5 friends who have all Atlantic Wolffish in their aquariums.
I'm in the process of filling my aquarium up with the Altantic Wolffish to farm (the only other fish i have in my aquarium are the boss fish i catch during the day that i feed to get them up to SSS grade to sell for 6 to 9 stars). If you're interested send me a friend request and I can make a spot for you as long as you are a daily player and gift (only batteries or best possible holiday gift worth the most stars possible-no cheap bait), and I don't expect friends to feed my fish as I will farm the Atlantic Wolffish from my friends if i have space in my aquarium...

During the last week in about 5 days i try to catch the sturgeon ! Spend around 200 to 300 cast in manglo river using A-worm/ A-Prawn/ A-Earthworm/S-Worm/ S-Shrimp/ S-Earthworm/ S-Minnow/ S-Crank/ S-Spinner/ Star Ornament/ Candy Bait/ Poinsetta Bait/ Corn Bread/ Suger Potato and CAN'T GET ONE HOOK with 42 of luck ! Till i get frustrating and use master bait and get one in the boat ! So for the one who try to catch that sturgeon i think the biggest mistake is low luck! so keep trying and trying!

hey jessyd, good work! i had the same problem a month ago until i read another post on its location, max right with a max cast using a s-spinner than i caught 1 within 5 casts! Then caught the Angled Sturgeon in the exact same spot 3 casts later! You're going to the Angled Sturgeon in the same place (max right, max cast) using a spinner. I had a slightly higher luck attribute but didn't have to wait until the ripples before casting and caught him.

Hi Kretch, I'm sending you a few tips that i discovered and posted on another website; i just copied and pasted several of my posts to another blog site so this should help... I'll send along some other tips later as well...
My method is extremely simple, but it's not easy to spot when you're someone like me who is very impatient and want to cast at any ripple (fish rising) looking for the next big boss fish.... Within the last week I've (playing for 3 months now) been analyzing the fish rising patterns to find out if there was some correlation of the fish rising and catching big fish; and i found one!
The next time you go fishing, watch carefully! At all times, when viewing the water you will notice there will always be at least 3 ripples (which on average have a duration of 6 to 10 seconds for each ripple cycle) that pop up in random areas without any logical pattern. The key to hooking big fish with EVERY cast is to focus on one or two ripples,(I tried keeping track of all three sets of ripples and it was impossible for me!). Count the number of RINGS (little waves) that are formed for each ripple (fish rising) and you'll find that the majority of the ripples have between 3 to 5 rings formed for their cycle.... You do NOT want to cast at these but to wait for the 6 to 7 ring ripples that have a much longer duration!
I guess it's not rocket science (the longer the ripples cycle, the bigger the fish!), but you have to be patient and wait for the longer duration ripples and cast within those ripples either PERFECT or EXCELLENT cast!
I've been using this technique for over a week and I've been catching boss fish and SSS fish left and right (never catching S sized fish or below)!
One trick that may help that I've been using after you see the difference in ripple cycles is once you determine a ripple is going to have 5 or more rings, start angling your rod and prepping your distance because you will only have roughly 2 seconds after the final ring is gone (you will still see shaded back rings in that spot for 1.5 seconds) to catch that fish in that exact location!
Please try this out and let me know how it works out for you.

Also note that you're going to find the boss fish in the same general areas that you have either been personally catching them, or locations others have recommended on this site in other posts! You're patience will be rewarded!

Hey YuiYeon, glad to hear it's working (sounds like it is)!!! It took me a few days to get good at this, because you have to be PATIENT and wait for a good set of ripples with 6+ rings, then cast excellent or perfect... Earlier this evening I caught 5 Red King Taimen in 45 minutes (roughly 8 or 9 casts).
One thing i did to figure this out was to basically just watch (stare!!! :) ) at these ripples for long durations of time to get a feel for the frequency of the 6+ ring ripples (without casting), but then you have to be able to get a QUALITY cast in at the last second.
It's difficult to explain on here but once you see it, its awesome (if any of you watch movies, you'll have a NEO in THE MATRIX moment)!
I actually thought the same thing with the big fish coming in the 3 ring ripples but have been testing it for over a week now, and there's no doubt in my mind that this works (the longer the ripple set/more rings per ripple set = BIG FISH); I am catching Boss and SSS fish at a ridiculous rate!
PATIENCE IS KEY!

BTW, once you start hitting the 6 to 7 ring ripple sets either Perfect or Excellent you will find that ALL the fish you catch will either be BOSS or SSS assuming your cast distance is between 33-100% guage casts...

I haven't looked at your stats yet but have you tried the Full Tension Fishing (FTF) method yet? This method works well for catching star fish but you have to have certain level player/fishing equipment stats...
Also, if you're not using or have a lot of S-baits, try using and friend requesting the next best available baits which are obviously the A-baits each day.

Regarding the ripple count method of yours, there is indeed a duration difference between the ripples, as you have discovered. Honestly, I would have never realized it myself as it takes a keen mind to figure out certain mechanics of a game that are made to be less obvious. Kudos on that. Ripples aside, my only predicament now, frustratingly, is getting that quality cast in, which you mentioned was necessary for it to work. I surely need to keep practicing on my perfect and excellent casting within that intense moment of seconds. A few more tries and I'll probably get the hang of it. I hope.
Also, this method of fishing termed as FTF that you mentioned, I just cannot figure out how it would actually work though. Maybe, as you had noted, the level of the player and the equipment stats, highly contributes to the success of this technique. Either that, or I am just doing it all wrong. Tried Googling it too, although no luck so far. Will keep trying some more after this post.

Hey Kretch,
Keep practicing (in your friends who have similar fishing stats and slighty above to work on your casting, distance and location control; i found that helped me quite a bit)... It will take some time, so be patient if you're new to this. Also make sure to max out your training (under my info tab), and work towards getting the better equipment and especially important to upgrade your equipment as much as you can... Get 50 friends and every day request Upgrade Scrolls to upgrade your equipment.
Regarding FTF, you're going to need to increase your fishing stats and equipment stats before your equipment will allow you to use this method; its not possible to use this method unless your rod stats are up there... Up until a month ago, i wasn't able to use this method either, but it's great for fishing boss fish...
Make sure you have 50 friends who play daily (this is SUPER important for requesting free gifts along with having them send you free gifts; which can translate into 50 upgrade scrolls and an additional 50 baits/batteries per day) so you can take advantage of free stuff that allows you to play more with better equipment, etc. You can also delete friends who don't gift or who don't play much under the settings option (bottom right of your home screen) in order to invite friends who do play daily (i learned this lesson the hard way!)

It'll be some time before I can purchase a better rod but I think I could manage getting some items from the Spring set. Just need to get more gold. Kinda hard being stuck at Wapo trying to catch another 3 Snakeheads to complete the quest. Not much exp and gold here unless you get certain SSS or SS fishes.
Stat wise, I can never seem to max it and I'm quite behind still although I do it regularly these days. Only way I see is by purchasing or earning stars or acquiring equipment with good stats.
Using your technique though, when my cast was Perfect earlier, I bagged my first SSS Bass at Wapo. It was brilliant. Mucho gracias. :-)

Do you have any Shrimp or Prawn Bait? Shrimp works best, then A-Prawn, then B-Prawn, etc...
Cast to the right towards the water lilies, using a min to medium-cast (50% guage).

Just wanted to share with yall that I got brown pants, shirt, and tattoo from the A chest. Mad goliath tiger bites all most every cast when using chum and crank.
I tried to cats s-sss alligator for my guest so i throw 3x a-chum and i used crank. About every second cast mad goliath bites... mostly when casting near. unfortunedly i cant get these guys up. But now i know how to get them when i am ready for them.
