What's On My Hook?

Hello Fellow Fishers,

Many of you may have read some of my comments to the posts here, and I have been asked to join as a contributor to the blog. Currently I am working on compiling a list of what the initial attack values are for all the fish, as it helps to be able to identify immediately what fish you have on your hook – especially when you are attempting to complete a quest, event or competition. I have cataloged many of the fish in the first few fishing holes, but since I’m currently only at level 26, I haven’t had a chance to fish at some spots. Also, there are some fish that I’ve caught prior to starting this list, but have not been able to hook since. Here is a list of the fish that I still need the values for:

Wapo River
Crappie
Mudfish
Snakehead
Yellowfin Goby

Riffle Valley
Cherry Salmon
Dolly Varden Trout
Pink Tail Characin

Fog Lake

Deep Blue Hole
Beardfish
Belted Beard Grunt
Bigeye Tuna
Wahoo

Please note that the list I’m going off of is the list that John posted earlier this month, so there are a couple of fishing sites that are not listed. The task I’m asking you all to help with is simple: as you are fishing, try to take note of what the initial attack value is for a fish when you hook it, then for any fish that is listed above, make a post in the comments. Once my list is a little more full, I will post it here for everyone to see.

Thanks & Happy Fishing,
WTF1113

Hey Ryan,

Thanks a bunch for directing me to this. I think I'm going to have to use this person's work and add the attack values to it, since they seem to have caught everything.

Thanks,
WTF1113

Yeah since its a google doc people can contribute and there's a lot of info added here and there, recently people started adding where to cast for certain fish, thought that was pretty sweet. good luck creating your chart.

What do you mean by initial attack value - where is this displayed exactly? I am level 23 and I don't have a clue where this is.

Daniel Kurz, seriously ... idk who invested the time but between this site and the one i posted I am much better off catching the fish I need!

The initial attack value is the number that pops up when you set your hook (pull your device back when the fish bites). For instance, a salmon is 320 and a freshwater ray is 210.

Feel free to add me: kak49. Btw how do u unlock the upgrade scroll for gifting? I am currently level 14

I see on the initial attack value - but wouldn't this change depending on your stats? It would seem to me that your ATK value would effect this as well as the timing of your hook setting.

I think the value intended here is the fish regen value. The number that shows up when they're purple and you don't hold the rod. Each fish usually has a number (though sometimes it will +1 if it is high level). But most usually you can know what fish it is from the regen. (Example: 16-17 regen in Wapo river would be snakehead)

hi i just wanted to ask if some1 can make me quick tutorial? or post it as a new topic on a site? cuz im new and i have 208 stars and i don't know what to do with them. if u dont want to make new post, email me plz: asoliszewski@gmail.com THANK YOU VERY MUCH

just don't use them, at all. Not for opening boxes, not for feeding fishes, and not for training.

Just start playing as if you don't have them. Then once you get to a higher level.. say 25+ you can buy a good star equipment. You'll be thankful when you still have those stars by then.

I am currently level 15 and close to leveling up. My problem is I am currently ranked 3rd in today's competition... if I level up wil it move me over to the intermediate competition or will the game take into account that I started the day as a beginner? I don't want to risk losing my prize by fishing further. I asked the facebook page but haven't received an answer yet. Thank you!

so ur suggesting just to buy eq for cash? and when ill get 25, what shud i buy with it i mean only rod or also something good? i dont have cash to buy stars ;)

Anonymous said...

Theres no need to buy stars with real life cash he ment buy all your equipment with game cash and save stars to buy a nice fishing rod in the future. Just keep collecting stars till lvl 30 a
nd then buy a nice fishin rod.

To clear up some confusion on this: I am not referring to the regen value when the fish is purple - I am referring to the value that shows in red when you pull back your device as the fish bites the hook. This value does not change based on your stats - the only thing that will change this value for a particular fish is if you either have a "Perfect" pull (which doubles the "Excellent" value) or if you have hooked an S or higher rated fish. The regen value that shows up when a fish is diving (purple) can be the same for more than one fish in a particular fishing spot, but the initial attack value will not.

I just caught a ‘Zombie Paku’ at Kalde Lake using bread. I received an ‘excellent’ rating on my cast, and it was made to the back of the area. The game didn’t let me put the fish into my aquarium, it only gave me the option of selling it. I don't know if this info helps.

Frankenstien fish found @ Jade wharf using c-cricket...

For me, the initial attack value is often covered by the perfect or excellent value and goes by too quickly to actually see.

I rely on the regen since those numbers are big and easier to capture, although they may not be unique it gives a pretty good idea of what fish it might be.

Good luck.
